Scatterbrain Animation Screenings is a screening series highlighting the animation community in and around the NC Triangle. This is an in-person screening hosted at no cost to the filmmakers or attendees.
Anna Lee is a multimedia animator, illustrator, and musician based in the North Carolina Triangle. After receiving her BA in Art and Design from NC State, she spent a year working in the film industry in Los Angeles and showcasing her personal work in local screenings. Inspired by the filmmaking communities in Los Angeles, she returned to the Triangle in 2023 to found Scatterbrain Screenings. She was a 2024 NC Emerging Artist in Residence at Artspace and will be pursuing an MFA in Experimental and Documentary Arts at Duke University in the fall of 2025.
Tony Hankerson, Jr. is a Storyboard Artist, Animator and Experience Designer based in Raleigh. Tony has drawn storyboards for children’s animated series, and has done creative/design work for organizations including Fidelity, NCSU, Copic, and more.
After spending time in L.A. and experiencing the city’s arts and animation scene, Tony was in search of a similar film and animation community in NC. Options were surprisingly limited, given NC’s film history, but he came across Scatterbrain Screenings during their second screening. He has been committed to the organization ever since.
Tony helps manage the behind-the-scenes operations of Scatterbrain, including web management, strategy, and attendee experience.
Gray Hancock is a creative director, animator, and installation designer with a BA in Art and Design from NC State and over 5 years of industry experience. Gray has worked on immersive installations with companies such as Doritos, Netflix, Parley for the Oceans, and more. He will be returning to NC State in the fall to begin his MFA in Architecture. Gray designs and creates informational and marketing material for Scatterbrain Screenings as well as assisting in event organization.
